General Care Instructions

• When you think of moss,you probably imagine dark places .Actually,moss is a plant like any other! It's usually best to leave it somewhere with plenty of sunlight.
• Try to avoid leaving it in places that are especially hot or dry ,such as near a window during the summer,or near a heating or airconditioning unit.

  r Moss Grown in a Flowerpot

  •  At first,the layer of moss will be a bit thin.Water it using a spray bottle until the water drips out of the holes at the bottom of the flowerpot. This will be sufficient for both the moss, and any other plants.*The amount of watering needed may vary depending on the climate and type of moss, but please use this table as a general guideline.

  Summer:Water once in the evening,and once in the morning.

  Spring and fall:Water once in the morning.

  Winter:Water once every 2-3days.

  • As time goes by,the layer of moss will become gradually thicker.In these cases,you should water the moss and the other plants separately.Moss requires several times its own weight in water, so for thicker moss or for larger flowerpots,be sure to give extra water with a spray bottle. To take care of the rest of the plants, submerge the flowerpot about 1/3 of the way into a basin full of
  face dries out,water it gently using a spray bottle.*Moss does not have the same king of roots as other piants. Instead,it has weaker roots called "rhizoids"that it uses to attach itself to sand, rock, or wood. If you pour too much water on it, the moss may come unattached from its base!
• Moss that is attached to rocks or driftwood dries out espcially easily, so be sure to check it regularly for dryness. In seasons or chimates that are especially dry, it may be a good idea to submerge the moss in a dish or basin filled with water.
